Is It a Structural Problem or a People Problem?
The Met Police has a culture of denial, defensiveness and optimism bias. I am categorically evidenced up to my eyeballs about what is happening in the Met. There is an arrogance in the Met which other police chiefs find really hard going. They love being the best police force in the world but they've got their sense of priorities wrong. It's almost by their inadmission to accept that there are failings but they have got themselves in this situation. How much lower could public confidence be in the Met?
