Demand avoidance is essentially when you find yourself suddenly unable to do something at a particular time because of the demand to do it. I really do struggle as an autistic person with demand avoidance. The connection between demand avoidance and autism is not really a choice. It's a manifestation of a disability, a condition. And as a result, it should be respected. Rather than belittling something or judging something, we need to respect it. How do we respect it? We understand it.
