The Entrapment Defense in the War on Terror
The essential defence that was offered by the plotters was the concept of entrapment. In other words, as more emerged about this plot, it became evident that the fbi was involved in it extensively throughout. This is something that's actually not all that i uncommon. If you follow fbi prosecutions during the war on terror, you will find numerous occasions where the person plotting to o engage in a terrorist act was plotting essentially with fbi agents the whole time.
