Is There a Difference Between Historical and Distinctive Perspectives?

Part of what has enabled me to do my research is that i don't really belong to afield. I've always sort of been outside of every one's field, and that has real disadvantages. But i suppose the advantages is that no one ever thinks that i belong and so am, that means that there's less questions about getting access. Am interested in interrogating contemporary politics and power through technology. And pointing out the ways in which technology and power are connect to issues of race, gender and nation - even denials of power.
