The Importance of Viability in Women's Football

The confederation of African football is encouraging traditional clubs to grow their women's game. If a club wants to compete in the equivalent, the African equivalent of the Champions League on the men's side, within the next year they have to have also a women's team as part of the licensing requirement. And I think that's really going to drive more African women's football development. The leagues are still quite fragile. We've seen leagues come and go in various parts of the world and struggle to be viable. So it's really important that we have these kinds of leagues viable and flourishing where clubs are sustainable or even profitable.
