The Russian Military's Obfuscation of Russian Casualties in Ukraine
The ISW is saying that this type of activity is simulating, just attempting to wipe out Ukrainian identity. They say it also empowers and amplifies what they say are overtly nationalist voices and ideologies in Russia itself. So we see these things and you could write it off as the so-called Danielle's People Republic just doing what they think they should do to keep currying favor with Putin. But actually it is all part of a systemic effort to wipe out Ukrainians' identity.
