I think everything I've read about attachment sounds more like, hey, make sure you're connected to your kids before you're just trying to correct everything. Like, what do you guys have in common? Go watch a movie together and rebuild some of your relationship before you go talking to them about their failing grade or something. It's that kind of a on going, yeah, those are scary situations.
