People are tired of high school debating tricks from politicians. Good leadership involves building a consensus around new ideas. There were actually quite a few policy ideas in the mid 1990s that were aired not to any great her dissent or problem. It helped party activists to warm to these proposals it actually helps the civil service to prepare for this stuff. Unfortunately I have terrifying news to break to you Britain is now an elite dictatorship where majority opinions are crushed according to Alistair Heath in the Telegraph and surely they couldn't just print bollocks could they?
