The Pharisees - The Pious Ones
The pharisees were a more thoughtful group. They did not think that political power was the way to see the kingdom of god. Enacted during the intertestamental period. At the time of jesus, there was about 11 thousand people associated - they are in all the major villages, synagogues and towns. And so he had major convicts, not with what they taught, but with how they practised their faith. It's interesting to note that as the apostle paul is moving and bringing his ministry through the world, thepharisees and th judaizes,. were his greatest obstacle.
