The Cowboy Mythology in American Cinema
The importance in the centrality of this mythology to the american psyche certainly very ingrained by the mid 20th century. In recent years one can see different changing incarnations and experiments with the cowboy myth often going along with a sense of disillusionment about the whole American experiment. The rise of steampunk which is not exactly a form of literature or entertainment it's an aesthetic or style seen in clothes games fan fiction and fan art where anachronistic technologies are put into almost hyper-real atmosphere and environment.
