The Power of Carbonic Acid
If you get a straw, put it into a glass of water and blow bubbles into it. You will make low levels of carbonic acid. Because you're blowing out carbon dioxide through your lungs. It's mixing with water, which is in the glass. And it's simple maths, right? CO2 plus H2O gives you H2CO3. Nothing's lost there. It's just added together. The definition of an acid is something that can produce hydrogen ions. And carbonic acid hates itself. So it splits itself apart. I didn't know that because I know these things. But let's just say the carbonic anhydrase goes in both directions making whichever one
