Bob Greene: I can't think about Birmingham without thinking about Frank's debt and the Highlands Bar and Grill. He says they really need to erect a statue to him here. His research has focused on figuring out why different species age at different rates, especially in long-lived organisms such as the cohort clams and hydra. Greene: If you look for animal species that did things better than humans do maybe you can figure out ways to make humans age more successfully.
