The Importance of Self Control in Modernity
The collapse of discipline or whatever we want to call it that Nietzsche would attribute as the sort of what would you call it, the weakening of society on the moral or cultural level. We've all lost the ability to command and have not exercised it because we've had the comfort and safety of the collective. That means those who are able to obey are in short supply as well,. And we attempt to replace the entire hierarchical system with a smattering of clever individuals forming a committee. It nevertheless manifests itself in a new oligarchy anyway, as Robert Mickels would say, just a bad one.
