Acama County, Virginia - The History of the Fires
By 2012, there were hundreds of abandoned buildings in Acama County and it was quickly becoming clear someone was picking them off one by one. The houses that were burning down were uninhabited and had been uninhabited for years or even decades. By the time police would be alerted, the arsonists would be long gone. They realized all they could really do was wait for the next fire to be reported, and hope that they might catch someone in the act.
