If you're getting close to a margin call, I would be sure that you're earning enough money or you have enough money on the side. Because during a correction, when stocks are down, that's the worst time to sell stocks. Historically, any correction has been a major buying opportunity. It's actually much less risky with similar or more upside to just leverage the market than to un-leverage and go after individual stocks.
