Is There a Difference Between Children's Literature and Christianity?

I think that specifically I have come to not be very happy with my experience of Christianity or with Christianity as I knew it. That made me unhappy with C.S. Lewis and the Narnia books but I don't know that I necessarily was ever very pleased about children's literature that was trying to instruct me. So having had this sort of a bit of a letdown as far as the books were concerned, did that kind of put you off the idea generally of what might be seen as smuggling Christian ideas into literature? Do you think that's a bit underhand especially perhaps when it comes to children's literature where if you like there's less of an ability to critically engage Christian ideas
