Lily says she was brought up under a parenting philosophy called taking children seriously. The founders of TCS like looked at that and thought if this is true, probably school is not a good idea. Lily: I've had quite an unusual background so I didn't go to school or university. And then because I kind of grew up around these ideas when I was a teenager I got interested in philosophy and epistemology.
