The Dangers of Giving Women Power

In imperial Rome, it was seen as quite normal for an older man and a younger man to have a sexual relationship. Julius Caesar being disparagingly known in contemporary graffiti at the time as the queen of Bethinia. In some ways, these stories about women who had power makes them more tyrannical than men. And so I think that's also something about in the Roman imagination which is really distasteful.
