In the mid to late naughties, emerged this idea of happiness as a science. This started with lord richard layard, who was described as the government's happiness sar. And he explains how, despite the fact that most countries are richer using objective data, and people are no happier using subjective well being data. Nd, this is called the eastlin paradox, and its fundamental to the well being engender as we know it.
