The Deferential Nature of Political Interviewing
Rob Burling has spent three decades in political television as editor of the Andrew Marshawn. He's just written a book called Why Is This Line Bastard Lying To Me? About, you guessed it, the political interview. An era when journalists did ask politicians questions, sometimes, but it was all terribly respectful. It's amazing to remember the deferential nature of political discourse between politicians and journalists at that time.
