Lenin's new democratic Russia has lasted about 12 hours. Lenin will rule largely by decree, issuing dozens of directives on the press and workers' rights. Once a champion of underground media, now Lenin introduces harsh censorship. With communist Russia somewhat out on a limb, the gains made in the revolution must be closely guarded.
