The Inescapable God
In 2 Kings chapter 16, Ahas is the king of Judah. He's not a good guy; he doesn't do what was right in the sight of the Lord. Isaiah comes to Ahas and says, ask me whatever you want,. And Ahas says, I will not ask, I will just say: "I'm not going to lean on God for help" It sounds really humble but it's actually like saying, "Like no one else, I don't know how to fight." The great prophecy from seven days now is that Immanuel shall conceive and bear a son - which means God is with us.
