I didn't want to put out another album that would really firmly put me into that new age genre but I knew I'm not gonna use that term anymore. People stop using it unless you identify with it if you're an artist and so yeah this one was a long time coming. The songs were all sort of along the steam of sort of being kind of on indie popyou know experimental but more song driven that are also responsive to what was happening in the world, he says.
