Stamets' Decision to Stop Stuttering
Stamets was remarkably lucky in that he just basically decided not to stutter anymore and stop stuttering. The fact that he didn't relapse is probably what's most remarkable because I think relapsing among stuttering treatments is actually pretty common. Usually what they're looking for when you take your child who's developed a stutter to a speech pathologist is how pronounced it is. So we need to start treating it now. If you have an overabundance of dopamine, one of the co-morbid symptoms with Tourette's can lead to a stutter as well.
