Is Batching Increasing Extraneous Load?

For me, my experience, when I do batch things, is that I would assume it increases my extraneous load for a period of time. It doesn't really impact it that much for the performance of the tasks that you've batched. But what it does is mean the planning requires thinking because in order to batch, you need to plan. And in order to plan, youneed to think which requires cognitive load. In sport, if you're injured or your client gets unwell then all plans go out the window. That's why goal setting is very difficult to maintain inside of businesses as goals rely on batching and planning ahead of time.
