The Mind Is a Computer, but It's Not a Programmer

There is no escaping computational universality. People are not calculating conclusions, but generating guesses. A mind deals with contradictions in a way that would cause any other program running on any other computer to grind to a halt and deliver an error message. Effectively, the mind creates new explanations without regard about how they fit together or if they contradict. Even our deepest theories of physics logically contradict one another. We've never programmed a computer to be motivated to do anything at all. So existing computer programs just do things that we programm them to they don't have problems. We have problems.
