How to Write an Aphoristic Piece
There was an earlier version where I was trying to write it in aphoristic chunks, some of which were highly abstract or moved from abstract poetic pronouncements to more straightforward criticisms. And then I went back and made it 8,000 words, and that's, it ran at like 8,500 words, and then I still got paid $5,000. Oh, man. Word count does.
