The Symbolism of the Book of Revelation
The book of Revelation is not the first apocalypse and it wasn't the last, neither Jewish or Christian. It's actually a genre already in fair use. In fact, this is probably why it took so long for the book of Revelation to be commonly accepted into the canon because there's just so many like it.
