The Supreme Court's Decision to Appoint a Special Master in the Supreme Court of New York
This ruling is just so out there. I mean, its conception of treating a former president with these incredibly special, velvety kid gloves,. god forbid a hair on his head should go out of place. There's a kind of premise that he has some kind of property right or executive privilege claim on these documents that do not belong to him. And an appeal might, a, take a long time, and b, might faily. It seems like the main likely effect is that appointing the special master a review of all 11 thousand of the documents - when really the judge could have ordered a review of a far smaller number.
