How Did You Get Into Artificial Intelligence?

I had been vaguely interested in it for a very long time without really doing anything about it. My background is in physics, and I had a job where I was learning machine learning. So then at one point, maybe four years ago, I figured my next hobby is going to be AGI safety. And my aspiration in my free time was to learn enough about it that I could leave intelligent comments on other people's blog posts. But I actually did way better than that,. A few years after that, I got a full-time job doing it, and now I'm on my second full-time jobs doing it.
