The challenge of thinking well how do you build systems that generalize in those contexts is really difficult. I thought about it back at Instacart. One of the most interesting challenges was predict when each user will come back and order again. And if you build that model in that context you actually build this very valuable asset, especially if there's like a embedding layer right before you make the prediction.
