Organizing Human Society Along the Line of Lobsters

I've been trying to figure out exactly what a hierarchy is and you know people said well I think it was Kathy Newman who said so you want to organize human society along the lines of lobsters. If social animals all the way up from glorified insects to human beings organize themselves into hierarchies or at least that's a very common form of organization. You can't blame the existence of hierarchies on western culture or capitalism but you can still be concerned with their negative consequences.
