The Law Is Written on the Heart of a Gentile
Some people genuinely will be justified on the last day, when they are judged according to their works. Paul clearly believes that he is referring to a real, not a hypothetical group here. The assumption that mere possession of the Torah granted good standing with God is dangerously misguided. Neither possession nor numb possession of the law excuses someone from divine judgment. When a Gentile fulfills the moral requirements of the law, they have the reality at which the law always aimed at in themselves. The work of the law is written on their hearts.
