Synthetic Identity Theft
The worst type of identity theft is something known as synthetic identity theft. The credit bureaus systems fail to detect the synthetic identity theft that involves again one person's name, another person's social security number and another person's address. So they're doing this three-way mix to the point that they've created essentially a new identity. And I remember Barron's magazine of all sources did a cover story years ago about synthetic identity theft because criminals were targeting ultra wealthy Wall Street types.
