Buddhist monks run marathons to achieve enlightenment. Each year, they have to do 100 days in one chunk of running a distance per day. And if at any point during this whole process, they fail to reach the number that they're meant to reach on that target, they kill themselves. Only 46 people in the 100 years or so has been going on have successfully completed it.
