The Changes in the Korean Fire Department
In 2011 an investigation uncovered that firefighters were still sharing oxygen tanks. They did not have enough protective equipment to go around. The fire department was so underfunded at 5pm every day, the fire stations would turn off heating even in the middle of the winter. In 2017 a photo went viral of firefighters taking a break after extinguishing a fire. So we can only hope with more conversation their conditions get better.
