Why Isn't the Night Sky Dark?

If the universe is infinite, wouldn't all those numbers add up to be like a crazy amount of light? Wouldn't kelly's kids get like starburns if they go out at night looking at the stars right? This is a question that people have asked, sort of sense antiquity. And this is a perfect example of what physics really is at its core. You build a model of the universe in your headn you make a prediction for what you should see, and then you ask like, does that agree with how the universe actually works?
