The more we say um, uh, or the less positively we're perceived because we seem less confident about what we're talking about. Asking for advice made people seem more competent and more knowledgeable. Good questions can do a really amazing amount of conversational work. We think that the time to ask questions is when we need information but they also shape how we're perceived.
