The bill would update D.C.'s criminal code to match actual sentences for carjacking and robbery. It also creates a new crime of endangerment with a firearm, which could be applied to anyone who fires it in the air or just fire it to scare someone. The Democrats are playing into this whole idea that the new D.C. code is going to be soft on crime because they don't want to be accused of being soft on crime. And so these cowards who are afraid of their own constituents are not telling their constituents the truth," he said.
