The Overflow of Hotels in the UK
There are something like 400 hotels being used to house some 51, I think it is, 1000 asylum seekers. So in the public's mind, they think, oh, well, we can't carry on using hotels. They've got to find a permanent place. It's expensive. It's £6 million a day and people want to carry on having their weddings ... so we have to find an alternative. Instead of speeding up asylum decisions, they're just going to cancel them. And that means more people in asylum, accommodation and hotels... more flin flam headlines that just don't stack up today.
