Index Funds Distorting Market Prices?

Growth of indexing a concept, if the growth of cap weigted index funds makes markets less elastic, what is the implication for investors? We'd often hear the dea, or get questions, about the idea that index funds are distorting market prices as they continue to grow in magnetude. Is there any validity to that, or reason it would be true? Yes, it's not very obvious to me in terms ore like an impact on elasticity. I think there is some evidence that thiy may have in terms of laying directly distorting prices and markets less efficient, or something like that. But based on that calculation, obvious tome.
