Unshaken Saints

CHAPTER

The Spirit Is Ready or Willing, but the Flesh Is Weak

In the Matthew version, and here in Mark when it's Jesus saying the spirit is ready or willing, but the flesh is weak, there's a JST of the Mark version that puts those words in the apostles mouth instead of Christ's. Now more than ever Jesus gets that. He's always known it, but now he knows it according to the flesh. And so he leaves them in their fallen flesh. In verse 39 and 40, again he went away and prayed and spoke the same words. And when he returned he found them asleep again.
