The Schwarzschild Black Hole Solution

The first time that people did this thought experiment in like the modern way was after Carl Schwarzschild, who found these solutions only a year after Einstein published the equations for general relativity. This is something that we're trained to do as physicists. We want to simplify a problem and try to understand an easier version of it before we get a hard version of it. So he made the assumption that nothing in space time is changing and all of space time is spherically symmetric and he was able to find what we now call the Schwarzschild black hole.
