The Oakdale Workman's Institute
Oakdale Workman's Institute was built in 1916 and re-erected in 1985. It would have been a place where workmen, and not just the workmen, you know, their families would have had various events on. They probably would have had parties in here, and things like fates as well. And then there was a library as well, so it was all about how the community could look after itself. Pronanda: I grew up around places like this, and actually would play the drums in like rugby clubs, and, you know,. workmen's halls and things.
