What Are Some of the Principles of Conversation?

People use a lot of ums and os to slow things down or sound smarter. There's the so called academic stutter too, says David Walliams. The phenomenon of simultaneous feedback is also important in face-to-face conversations. If you're having a conversation with somebody, then at a certain point in the conversation, when you 're both speaking fluently, stop the feedback. Simply don't do it. Just stare at the floor, or just look at the person, or do nothing.
