The Challenges of Verifying User Identity Online
In an online context, it's just very, very easy to fake basically every part of that verification process. You can't actually trust any of the devices that are trying to verify their identity. The biometric selfie component was actually, I say, mainly popular in the market in the last three or four years before crypto companies started to push forward. Now there's a limit to how long you can keep pumping up the friction and increasing security at a certain point because people are going to be more interested in using your app.
