The Trump Administration's Deference Policy
The previous administration was quite successful in erecting what we call the invisible wall. They created a policy where everyone had to be interviewed for residency, regardless of the routine nature of the case. On top of it, they even, at one point, for humanitarian benefits, like victims of crimes, an asylum. Just crazy crazy policies. Honestly, it honestly set up to fuck with people. I mean, i can't really put it any blunder than that, and it's not very lawyerly of me, but that's really the design.
