David Gergen: The money here is appalling. But there's something else that was happening in Wisconsin that should give us pause, which is we've seen not to this extent, but certainly high profile, high dollar amount, clear interest group driven judicial races before. Judge Janet called the legislative maps that I'm talking about rigged. She said a public employee restriction on bargaining with public employee unions was unconstitutional. And she tried to draw this narrow, I think, very fuzzy and unconvincing distinction between saying that voters were entitled to know what her values were; then simultaneously insisting he would leave those values at the door when she put on her robes.
