Shippur II - The Greatest Friend of the Roman Empire

Shippur III died in 379 AD after a remarkable 70 year reign over his empire. The record for longest unverified reign goes to the Egyptian Pepi II, an Old Kingdom Pharaoh who reigned 94 years between 2278 and 2184 BC. Shippur has been an on-again, off-again, boogeyman of the Romans since he was first provoked by Constantine the Great, way back in 336.
