What Do You Think About the Great Man Theory of History?

I think I still buy the kids' argument that the decisions that people make in office and in power really matter. But I'd also say there are some sort of deep, when you look back, even at relatively recent politics, there's some quite deep forces at work. The early parts of the 21st century are so shaped by the attack on the Twin Towers... These sort of big seismic events do affect COVID. So I think it's a mixture of the two.
